were
formed in its current coherent line-up in Summer 2003.
Clara
Kousah
provides vocals,
Rachel
Beaven
with percussion and vocals,
David
Walsh
on bass and
Ben
Henricksen
on guitar.
Wild
Hope were
looking for an intimate band experience where the songs lured the audience in,
rather than a sonic assault which battered them into submission, which has
done by plenty of other bands. So Wild Hope was born. This
aural entrapment is harder to achieve, but more satisfying when successful.
Its the difference between trout tickling and fishing with dynamite. Musical reference points
could be Mazzy Star/ Cocteau Twins or Jeff Buckley/Suzanne Vega or NIN/Sonic
Youth; all shaken AND stirred. Perhaps
more helpfully, Wild Hope creates
music to feed the soul, beauty with a slightly dark underside. Dark
chocolate for the ears.
